so i got these wooden cubes, that are 1/2 inch in diameter and made a 3-d pixelated goomba. 1,440 blocks were needed for this piece. each glued together one by one and later painted with acrylic paint and clear coated with spray paint. 8 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 7 inches front to back from an overhead view. weighs almost 10 pounds as well. haha. this was about a month in the making since i would do this in the free time i had that wasnt painting.

i might tackle a koopa troopa down the road but i need to paint more before that. maybe a winter project.

I've actually seen the same thing done with a duck from DuckHunt. I also know turning a 2D pixelized mosaic into a 3D pixelized sculpture isn't as easy as it looks, and very time consuming- but this looks great! Nice choice of colors.
